Banish the blues- blog- Blue Monday- DECIDE.So, what is Blue Monday?

Well according to Wikipedia “Blue Monday is the name given to a day in January (typically the third Monday of the month) purported to be the most depressing day of the year. The concept was first publicised as part of a 2005 press release from holiday company Sky Travel which claimed to have calculated the date using an equation. The idea is considered pseudoscience, with its formula derided by scientists as nonsensical.”

It’s not surprising that the ‘Blue’ day was identified as a Monday, but It comes at that start to the year when many are trying to get to grips with the post-Christmas financial hit, still battling to kick-start the ‘new year- new you’ diet plans, not to mention facing the back-to-work and school routine in the gloomy weather…

So for some light relief, DECIDE. is giving you the green light to ban the blues and have some fun! We’ve re-envisioned some typically blue related images in our corporate green, see how many you can get. [Answers at the bottom]

Like other organisations we are suggesting the concept should be turned on its head, let’s put a positive spin on it and make Blue Monday a day to cheer things up a little, focus on doing good things for one another and lighten the load. [ or have some cake! ]
